Tom Petranoff: “May 15th 1983, 12:09 and 36 seconds at release. Bob Grregor from UCLA Biomechanics lab built first high speed video machine and I was first subject. He had high speed 200fps and 400fps and timer was running in corner of screen. They had to hire a massive lift to get it in place. He was screaming I got it I got it !!!!!!!!!! over and over !!!!!! I was in shock and his $500k new toy got WR!!!!!!! They ran out of tape measure as we are from old ages. The block is imminent and left foot inches from ground….arm back waiting for the stretch reflex!!!!. I asked Nike to put double straps on left shoe and new sole to handle 1100 pounds of pressure at block!!!!. ”
